The history of Jinhae Gunhangje (Naval Port) Festival, which is also known as the Cherry Blossom Festival, can be traced all the way back to April 13, 1952 when a memorial service was held after erecting a statue of Chungmugong (Duke of Loyalty and Warfare) Yi Sun-sin for the first time in Korea.
